The Decanter World Wine Awards are held every year in the English capital. With a strict jury made up of experts from the world of wine, this competition has been held for 17 years and has managed to position itself as one of the most important international competitions for wineries.
In this last edition, the jury had to taste the total of the 16,518 wine samples that participated from more than 56 countries. The task was taken on with full professionalism by the 116 members of the jury, including 37 Masters of Wine and 9 Master Sommeliers.
Now we know the results and we can not be happier because the Albariño Condes de Albarei 2019 was awarded the silver medal.
Under the seal of the Rías Baixas Designation of Origin, Condes de Albarei albariños are made with grapes from the small plots owned by our wine growers in the Salnés Valley. The pampering and care they offer all year round to their grapes is, without a doubt, what allows us to collect an excellent quality harvest with which we make our wines.
The 2019 campaign was characterized by a perfect state of health of the grape, where the problems in the vineyard were minimal thanks to the good weather of this harvest. The grape arrived at the winery in excellent condition and very rich in aromas, a reflection of what we now see in the bottle.
The 2019 vintage is characterized by having a good aromatic intensity highlighting the hints of citrus, fruit and white flowers. In the mouth it is fresh, with volume and round; stands out for its long, persistent and aromatic finish.
